I suppose the numbing cold provided some anesthetic relief to the sore bodies of the passengers bumping and jolting along in the night in the overland stagecoach. In one hour, a hot meal, a good drink of something, and a hoped-for warm bed. Tomorrow, the passengers continuing on will be transferred to a "Mud Wagon."   This was the life!
