I chose to portray these two individuals from the Southern Piegan branch of the Blackfeet tribe as if they had posed in a room in a trading post with only a smoke hole in the ceiling allowing light to enter.  A magnificent culture who lived and flourished in Southern Canada and Western Montana, often entering Idaho and surrounding areas for purposes of war, horse stealing, and trade.
