Trappers knew that the finest and heaviest pelts were available in deep Fall and early Winter.  Some trapped right through the winter, stockpiling the furs to be baled in the Spring.  However, even the most ambitious Trapper knew when it was time to move on.  These guys got the message and are taking the shortcut over the mountain to drop into lower elevations and spend the winter lounging comfortably and basking in the sun.  They wish!
